About Val
As an orphan, growing up was rough for this particular little soul. The only thing he knew of his parents was their handwritten apology for abandonment and declaration of love that they would be back once they came home from war. It was a promise that was broken too soon. At a tender young age, he learned his parents wouldn't be returning. This left him particularly vulnerable, and a bit emotionally neglected as the poor woman at the orphanage had many other needy children to comfort and care for in such tumultuous times. Instead of becoming cold and distant, he began radiating warmth and gave the tightest hugs to those in need of solace.
Upon leaving the orphanage when he came of age, the harsh reality of loneliness started to creep up on his mind. With so much love to share, he had no one to share it with and began pouring all of his energy into adventuring. Any support he could give, it was all of him, and borderline reckless as he coveted his teammates' lives above his own. The same kind of comfort from the orphanage spills over into his life he sometimes finds himself fretting over the health of those he's barely met. Putting himself on the line sometimes left him licking his wounds by himself, a glaring reminder that there was no one at the end of the day. Despite never feeling like enough in the midst of abandonment and darkness, he still wasn't deterred from giving every last bit of himself for a shred of acceptance and attention.
